- Honest Advisor
- Intuitive Companion
- Gentle Healer, Joyful Greeter and Playful Partner
At Rise and Bloom Counseling, healing isn’t just about words—it’s about feeling safe, supported, and understood. That’s where Kuno comes in.
Kuno is an 8-year-old black Standard Poodle with a gift that can’t be taught: he always seems to know exactly what someone needs, right when they need it. Calm and grounding for those who arrive with anxiety, playful and lighthearted for those who need a smile, Kuno’s intuitive presence helps clients feel more at ease the moment they step into the therapy space.
From the time he was a tiny six-week-old puppy, Kuno showed a natural ability for this work. After passing the Volhard puppy aptitude test—a strong indicator of temperament and suitability for therapy roles—he received extensive behavioral training in grounding, alerting, and connection. But what truly makes him exceptional is his heart. His capacity to tune into the people around him allows him to reduce anxiety, provide a deep sense of safety, and help clients regulate their emotions in ways that words sometimes cannot.
Kuno, German for “Honest Advisor”, lives up to his name in every sense of the word. He takes his role as a therapeutic partner seriously, but he also brings joy. He’s always delighted to greet clients, happy to play a quick game of ball, and content to offer scratches, belly rubs, or even deep grounding pressure when it’s needed most. He is not just a dog in the room—he is a partner in the therapy process, offering steady companionship and unconditional presence that reminds us we don’t have to carry our burdens alone.
